Fake Health Care Scams

There’s a new scam going around in the Louisiana area: fake health insurance. An article on HoumaToday.com talks about how Louisiana scammers targeted people who were seeking cheap health coverage and instead took hundreds of dollars per month with no intent to assist the “insured” when medical assistance was needed. In all, scammers took advantage of 645 people in Louisiana alone. Seeing as Louisiana is #5 on the list of most uninsured states, it’s conceivable that these companies may have expanded to surrounding states as well including Texas (#1), Florida (#3), Mississippi (#6), as well as any other state with a vulnerability to a cheap health insurance scam.

We suggest you shop around for the best price, but if a health insurance plan sounds too good to be true, be suspicious and find out all the facts. At Partee Insurance, we’re more than happy to help you decipher what is real versus what isn’t, just give us a call at 888-628-7566 or send us an email. Never hesitate to look up a company up on your state’s Department of Insurance website or call the Department directly.
